If you’ve decided to take on the ultimate closet clear-out challenge then you’re in the right place. That cluttered closet will daunt you no longer!

Here, we share our #Closi-tips on how to do an effective closet clear-out AND we list some ideas of what you can do with your unwanted clothes.

So, put the kettle on, throw on some light clothes and queue your favourite songs… let’s go! 👏

STEPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL CLOSET CLEAR-OUT

  1. Start by taking all your clothes out your closet and lay them on the floor or on your bed.
  2. Pick one piece up at a time, try it on and facing a mirror, ask yourself the following questions:
  • Is it wearable?
  • Do I like it?
  • How does it make me feel?
  • Does it fit my style?
  • Does it fit my body as it is right now?
  • Have I worn it in the last 12 months?

3. Using bin bags or boxes, label one keep, another let go and a third one sell.

At the end of this process, each item should be placed into 1 of the 3 bags or boxes.

If you’ve been thorough and honest, the clothes in your keep pile should be ones you actually do want to wear and make you feel great!

You should hang them neatly and respectfully back in your closet.

Be careful not to include gifts or expensive items just because you feel guilty for rarely wearing them. Keeping them in your closet will not automatically make you start wearing them again! Store wanted but out-of-season clothes elsewhere.
